To, Dr ET Roy, Secretary, IOS Dear Dr ET Roy, Greetings from the Bombay Orthodontic Study Group As you are aware, the first ever Study group in the country was established in the city of Bombay - now Mumbai and was aptly titled, ' Bombay Orthodontic Study Group - BOSG '. This was in the year 1963. It was this Study Group that blossomed in to the Indian Orthodontic Society, which boasts of a 2000 + membership today and we feel privileged to be associated with this study group as members and also as the Convenors. We had sent the Registration Form duly filled to your office to have the BOSG as a duly registered Study Group of the Indian Orthodontic Society, giving all the necessary particulars, including the date of Charter. However the website shows the date of charter as 03/08/08. This is to request you to make the necessary correction. It would also be fitting and appropriate to mention this historical fact on the Study Group page and on the Home page. The home page does say, ' the IOS started as a Study Group in Bombay, now Mumbai, way back in 1963 .... ' May we request you to have it rephrased as follows, so as to highlight this very important milestone in the history of Indian orthodontics and accord BOSG this honourable mention ? ' the IOS started as a Study Group in Bombay, now Mumbai, as the BOMBAY ORTHODONTIC STUDY GROUP, way back in 1963..... ' This will be surely of interest to every member of the IOS, especially our new members. We sincerely look forward to and would greatly appreciate this on the website as well as the PR material which the IOS has so painstakingly generated. With best wishes, Yours fraternally, Dr Sanjeev Shevade on behalf of Convenors and Advisor, BOSG *** Copy to Dr OP Kharabanda, President IOS
